My
wife and I both were pretty much given the same advice by our parents regarding
how to be successful in life. We were told to "Go to college, get a degree,
and get a job with a good company that has great benefits and an excellent retirement
plan". Bless their hearts…that was good advice 30 years ago and it seemed
to be working early on in our careers. But there was one thing that we neglected
to tell our parents…..  WE
WANTED TO BE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT. WE WANTED TIME AND MONEY FREEDOM!
After
15 plus years in Corporate America and three college degrees between us we simply
reached corporate burnout! Working 60 to 70hrs weeks, living pay check to pay
check, and being several thousand dollars in credit card debt just wasn't working.
We reached a
point in our life where we simply said enough is enough! We were sick and tired
of being sick and tired. We decided to find a business that would allow us to
reach our dreams and live life on our own terms. In
our quest for financial independence we did "No Money Down Real Estate Investing",
Amway…TWICE. Excel…TWICE. As a male I even tried to convince myself
that I could sell Mary Kay. While there's nothing wrong with these companies we
pushed more pills, potions, powders and lotions than you could image. At family
functions we would give you a facial, sell you some soap and switch your long
distance service before the meat was off the grill! Needless to say, this was
uncomfortable for us and our friends and family. Multilevel Marketing just wasn't
the way to wealth for us. Today
we have a REAL home based business that we truly run from the comfort of our home.
Working 4hrs a day only 4 days a week our yearly income is becoming our monthly
income! Credit card debt no longer haunts us. We have time and money freedom.
We travel the world with our children.
